Famous moonshiner, Popcorn Sutton, rather then spend the rest of his life in Federal Prison, committed suicide earlier this week.
The bad guys won the Whiskey Rebellion.

Lovely portrait–rather wild story.

Very wonderful rendering. I’ve actually never heard of the guy. If he committed suicide to avoid prison wouldn’t he be infamous, rather than famous. Just a thought. I’m not the grammar police or anything.

A lot of food for thought on this one. Bravo!

Make that -2.
Popcorn would be considered infamous if you thought making moonshine is a bad thing. Around these parts, he’s famous. (Unless you’re going by the legal definition, then infamous would be acceptable, but then you would agree with the law that moonshining is bad.)

I’d secede with you guys but I’m totally reliant on The Man. You know how it goes. Nice drawing, though!

Is your land sovereign soil now? My dad told me how to build a still and what to use, we could get some sugar cane and start. We just need that little creek in the back yard to flow a bit more. For cooling.
